What would the web be like without the presence of Ebay? For those who have not joined yet, you will learn that Ebay has it's own culture. Ebay connects buyers and sellers from all over the country; all over the world. The item you cannot purchase at the local store you can locate on Ebay.
I have been a Ebay user since the start of 1998. My first purchase was June 18, 1998. I probably bought a crappy laser pointer or some other overpriced. Yes, I was a member when Ebay had little or no fees. A time when digital products and hosting auctions were nonexistent. Ebay has definitely changed. I remember my first sale: April of 1999, A Mark McGwire Olympic card. At the time, it was hard for me to get rid of that baseball card! But, I needed extra cash and sold the card for $95. I was excited! (I was only 21 at the time). 9 years have passed, I have a feedback score of 100% and very proud of it! At times, however,it seems tough, and sometimes impossible to run with the huge sellers and companies selling their products and services in every category imaginable.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on Ebay. But, as I said before, it is hard to compete. I've sold only 27 items since my membership began 9 years ago. Maybe I am a bit lazy but also, I'm a bit intimidated. I have tried to make and script sales, but you need to sell tons to make any cash!
The Opportunity
During my journey on "how to make money online," I came across the Ebay affiliate program. Don't you ever wonder where the seller fees you are paying are going? Well, most of the fees are going to Ebay and a percentage goes to affiliates.
Hmmm, I am not making any cash with Ebay selling my own stuff, why don't I make money off of other seller's auctions!
