Stress And Hair Loss: Can Stress Be Responsible For Hair Loss?
By rudy silva
I guess I got you asking 'How in the world would the normal day-to-day stress we face these days affect my hair and contribute to my hair loss?" You know when I also asked a friend of mine the question, she said she could not see any correlation between stress and hair loss. Unfortunately, this is the situation among many people. There isn't enough curiosity to make us feel that if we are losing lots of hair, it might just be our lifestyle and whatever situations we are going through revealing itself in the form of hair loss.

Now a friend of mine, Dr. Lloyd who is a certified trichologist casually mentioned recently that the pace of life is not only a contributory factor to our society's general poor health, it has been proven that stress and hair loss are likely to go hand in hand. According to him, "as soon as a patient comes in, the very first thing I take a look at is his or her medical history. If I do not notice anything that could be responsible like pregnancy, eating habits, illness, and genetic predisposition, I usually try to ask what's currently going on in their lives. I have found through this method, that some of them do not need any form of treatment. All they really need is counseling to fix what is going on in their lives. Once I refer them to see a counselor and they get their lives back on track, they tend to regrow their hair fast."

Now, that is from an expert in the field. Now, I am not saying categorically that stress is solely responsible for hair loss. I am saying that it is possible it is a contributory factor. For instance, let's examine the following scenario:

Monique is in and has to work to make ends meet. After a while her friends

mStoner/Slover-Linett Survey Pinpoints Marketing Challenges Facing Higher Education -- Budgetary Constraints Top the List
A recent survey of thought leaders in American higher education marketing, communications, and PR revealed that more than half of the respondents identified financial constraints or budgetary problems as the top challenges facing their institutions in 2009. Citing such obstacles as "unexpected budget constraints," "insufficient funding levels," and "budget cuts," respondents described a lack of necessary resources to reach institutional goals in fund raising, printing, web development, and more. Respondents also predicted negative repercussions from economic factors beyond their own institutional budgets, as in "Economic changes in the newsroom have led to a shrinking news hole for higher-ed stories." The survey was conducted by mStoner and Slover Linett Strategies. (PRWeb Nov 19, 2008)

started passing comments on her haggard looks as a result of her lifestyle for about a year. To cap it all up, her boyfriend happened to be a total jerk. He abused her at every opportunity and made her life miserable. Monique became so overworked and stressed that she literally started losing her hair. During this period, it was obvious that she was really stressed because her skin started looking dry and she was generally feeling weak all the time not to mention that she started being inefficient at her studies and work.

One morning, she woke only to find that hair strands -hers- were all over her pillow. She became worried but did not think it was because she was stressed out. So, she went to see her doctor who through probing found she was going though lots of stress and that he hair loss was not a medical condition but was brought on by the stress. After this she resolved to get her life back on track. Eventually, she broke up with her boyfriend, and spent a lot more time just studying and relaxing when she wasn't working. In just two short weeks, she has not only regained her zest for life, she literally grew her hair back.

So, if you are in a similar situation and find you are losing your hair, you might just want to sort things out with yourself first before booking an appointment with a trichologist.

Rudy Silva is a natural nutritionist that can help you stop your hair loss or help you grow it back. For more information on hair loss from stress and other conditions go to: www.hair-loss-remedies.for--you.info
