If your favorite part about your teaching job is June, July and August, you may want to think about a career change. Summer vacation doesn't have to end Labor Day weekend. It can last the whole year through.

Teaching is supposed to be about shaping young minds. Imparting wisdom, life lessons and skills to students who are eager to learn, respectful and attentive but for the most part these days, teachers are now given the additional responsibilities of warden, parent, psychologist, and baby sitter for a minimal salary and pitiful benefits. The reward of seeing students learn is wasted because you are too busy dealing with the political workings of the school board, parents who don't take time to understand their own children and the students who act out, don't show up or barely participate. You plan lessons for an ever changing curriculum, that you were given no opportunity to voice your input on, only to have the IT equipment broken again. There are challenges to every career but as a teacher you have many more than most.

Many educators take second jobs, teach summer school, coach, or give private lessons to make ends meet. Living on $40,000 a year just isn't enough these days. If low pay and long hours have begun to over shadow your "I do it for the kids" motto you started with fresh out of school, it may be time to teach those that are willing to listen.

You will however have to be prepared to be the student for a while, learn from leaders and roll up your sleeves and do the work involved. This is not a get rich quick scheme or a pyramid scam. Network marketing is a legitimate business with a huge potential for growth.
