When Is Uncontested Divorce A Bad Idea?

Thus it is that if there is birth then there is death also. Stretching the theory a bit, one can say that if there is marriage then there is divorce also. This stretching of the theory may not be as difficult to imagine in this day and age as it may have been earlier.
Marriage
A marriage is a union of two people in a social bond, which generally has blessings from the religious leaders as well. More often than not, it is a coming together not just of the two individuals themselves, but their families or even their ethnic groups as well. Marriage is a uniting embrace.
However not all marriages are successful in uniting the people. Some may fail, down the line. In some marriages even though all things may seem to be in their respectful places, there may be a lack of commitment on the part of either one or both individuals
Divorce
Ultimately it does not matter whether the marriage was conducted to join together two families or two ethnic groups or two nation states. In the end it falls on to the shoulders of the two married people to make their marriage work. A failure to do this may lead to dissolution of marriage.
The dissolution of marriage is as old as the practice of marriage itself. Just as marriage requires societal sanctity so does the dissolution of marriage. This is done in the modern societies via a process called divorce proceedings. A divorce can be granted only by a decree from a court of law.
Approach to Divorce
Deciding upon taking a divorce can be a very painful decision for the couple. It may be that one spouse wants to continue with the marriage while the other wants to have a divorce. It makes things a lot simpler for both the people if the decision taken in this regard is unanimous.
Even though a divorce is not a good idea in general, if one has to go for it then it makes sense to walk this last leg of marriage together with understanding and compassion. It is a lot easier if both the spouses have pre decided on the various issues related to divorce, such as child custody, division of assets etc. If they have all things charted out then taking a divorce is a simple approach.

This is because the other partner may not be sensible in discussing the issues related to divorce and further physical may follow. It may only lead to intimidation of the worst kind.
Refusal to Discuss: In some instances even though divorce itself may be a foregone conclusion, the other spouse may not be willing to sit across the table and discuss the modalities of the same.
